⚠️River Heights

Opt in to receive timely river height alerts for hundreds of river sensors across ireland. You can set a "trigger height" for your local sensor locations, and you will receive alerts if the river exceeds your trigger height.

⚠️Marine & Maritime Warnings

Receive coastal/maritime weather warnings for the Irish coastline. This includes live maritime weather updates via Met Eireann for the 18 coastal weather regions on the Irish coast.

⚠️Tide Time Predictions

Receive advance notice of tide times for your local area for the coming day(s). WaterAlerts.ie will tell you when low and high tide is expected for your preferred beaches so you can plan your walk, swim or other leisure activity.

How does this work?

After you pay for a subscriber account, you can provide mapped locations and this will let us know which water alerts you should receive. All alerts are localised, so if you live in Sathill, Galway then you will only receive alerts for this part of the country. This ensures your alerts are always relevant. You can opt in and out of a number of alert categories, depending on your preferences.

What areas are covered?

This is a national service, covering 26 counties.

What is a subscriber account?

Most features on this service are premium features, meaning that you need to have an active subscriber account to access them. You can only receive alerts if you have an active subscriber account.

Your subscription is based on an annual payment, and you can renew at the end of your subscription period. If your subscription expires then you will stop receiving alerts.

It is quick and easy to register for a subscriber account, and you are eligble to receive alerts as soon as your account is created..

What are the main benefits?

Alerts are always localised, meaning you will only receive updates from us when something impacts your mapped local areas. The benefit here is that you won't be bombarded with alerts from across the country, and each alert will be local in nature.
This service is a huge time saver. If you find yourself scouring other websites for water updates, then we will do all the searching on your behalf and let you know when something may impact you.
There is no cost to receive alerts once you create your subscriber account. Email, SMS and App alerts are always free. SMS are issued for emergency events such as severe weather notices for your local area.

Is there a limit on a number of alerts that I receive?

No! You will receive as many alerts as necessary, depending on the number of locations you provide and the number of alerts that are issued.

Do you have a trial period for a subscriber account?

Unfortunately not. There is too much administration to create and manage accounts. Instead, the service is offered at an extremely low annual rate.

Is it possible to get alerts outside of Republic of Ireland?

No. This service is limited to alerts that are issued by data providers for Republic of Ireland.
